Fun fantasy-horror with 60s-70s kaiju style monsters, i.e. with rubbery suits worn by people. The film works for what it is, an asteroid is impacting the Earth and through an expedition to explode the threat you come into contact with this strange substance and form of life, accidentally brought into the space station, it will grow and multiply, generating panic, attacks and some victims. The creature, the Green Slime, is well made, it is clearly puppet-like and rubbery but for those loves these films, it's nice to see these rubber monsters in action, in costume with their tentacles attacking the space base. Fukasaku, the director of the great Battle Royale, is also directing along with Taguchi, in fact there are still well-constructed shots , the Slimes advancing through the corridors, the excellent scene where once the door is opened you see the dead doctor with the Slimes behind him has its effect. Also good is the idea of often showing the events via monitors, the Slimes attacking the above of the space station and the beautiful scene of the reproduction of the Slimes which is really good. The green creatures feed and proliferate with energy, watching the film today you can easily read a criticism of man's excessive consumption of energy. Furthermore, the film is from '68, not a random year, we know well the context of those years, student revolts, Vietnam and in fact the film places a strong gaze on human life, the orders from above that endanger men of the mission without taking into account the safety of the people. plot

A giant asteroid is heading toward Earth so some astronauts disembark from a nearby space station to blow it up. The mission is successful, and they return to the station unknowingly bringing back a gooey green substance that mutates into one-eyed tentacled monsters that feed off electricity. Soon the station is crawling with them, and people are being zapped left and right!
