Men of  Il Buio In Sala - Giuseppe Armellini Il Buio In Sala - Giuseppe Armellini
First of all, I want to say it even if those who hang out here know it very well, whatever I say about Men is the result solely and exclusively of my vision and my interpretation. I know that within this film - it is clear - there are very explicit but they relate to things that I, however, do not know. This is a blog and as such - in my opinion - should always be the mirror and voice of those who keep it, as if it were a personal diary. So if you want to look for more exhaustive and correct interpretations go online about the film, I'm sure there will be many. And if you want to bring them back here in the comments I'm very happy, you will make the post much more interesting and complete. But, well, my suggestion is always to watch the films with your own eyes , try so hard to come up with your own ideas and only then, if anything, go and look online for the great Answers. Third film by Garland and second confirmation that this author and I have a lot of elective affinity. After the sensational debut with Ex Machina and after that great film that is Annihilation, here Garland dives into the psychological thriller, in a very difficult film, of great suggestion but also of great risk. Yes, because Men is not a film for everyone. And when I say these sentences I say it horizontally, not vertically. Not therefore because it is a film that many cannot get to (I hate this concept) but a film that has such a particular slant that, evidently, it cannot meet the tastes of many. Harper (an amazing Jessie Buckley) is a woman who has she has just lost her husband, in a truly tragic way. She decides to take a small existential journey in the English countryside, in a beautiful house immersed in the woods near a small village. Her stay is shocked by the presence of Read all

Garland, needless to say again, is one of the very few active directors (along with Refn and Lanthimos) in whom Kubrick's verb was grafted and began to produce shoots. Despite this, Garland's works have always been imperfect although high level of quality (from "Ex-Machina" to "Annihilation") up to the peak with the one-off series "Devs", a work where imperfections are reduced to a minimum. "Men" is not a perfect film, it does not have a complex plot but certain sequences must be seen and reviewed several times to try to decipher them in the most logical way possible. In the end "Men" turns out to be absolutely fascinating (much more than the two previous films) although in a less direct and instinctive way. The plot , in itself, is far too simple but the viewer will immediately realize that the things that are shown by the director do not necessarily turn out to be exactly as they are in reality. A woman, Harper Marlowe, chases her husband James away from home after yet another violent argument; shortly afterwards the woman sees from the window (we are inside an apartment in a building) her husband's body falling into the void: suicide or accident? Some time later the woman rents a house in a small village about three hours drive from London, to be able to relax and try to find psychological stability after the dramatic event. She is welcomed by Geoffrey, the owner, who introduces her to the property and who takes leave of her, informing her that for any problem she can refer to him. The following day Harper takes a walk in the countryside surrounding the house and the contact with Nature seems to be reassuring her until the moment she arrives at the entrance to a tunnel (the one shown in the poster): although she is wary of going through it, she decides anyway not to stop and start Read all

plot

In the aftermath of a personal tragedy, Harper retreats alone to the beautiful English countryside, hoping to find a place to heal. But someone — or something — from the surrounding woods appears to be stalking her, and what begins as simmering dread becomes a fully-formed nightmare, inhabited by her darkest memories and fears.
