Although not original, it is a film that starts with an interesting premise, where even in the first shot we see our protagonist sitting distantly from the family, immediately making it clear that there are problems. It is a film that recalls Basket Case and the body horror, and from this point of view it works, it is true that one notices that there is no who knows what kind of construction of tension, every now and then some ugly jump scares, but the sequence of the "double" on the bed works and in general one notices the moments where the direction is aware to the detriment of other more "scholastic" moments. Where the film limps the most is in its pace, one notices that it derives from a short film, the progress of the film is a bit televised and also the direction, which as written at the beginning and in the body horror moments he also shows a certain hand, he settles a bit on television standards. Some dialogues are a bit too much and the boy's character certainly doesn't stand out and his relationship with the protagonist, especially with what happens in the final, is not so decisive. In the film we also find the Babadook for a certain management of the double and for the "connection" that it has with the guest, in fact the traumas, anxieties, fears remain inside people, yes they can control but not erase. The ending, not surprisingly, is reminiscent of the Babadook and there the direction together with the photography brings out new life with an excellent final shot.
