An underrated horror with some holes in the script

I was surprised by this film, one of the most gripping horror films I've seen recently.

The story concerns two brothers who return to the family farm due to their father's worsening condition.

The film makes good use of the clichés of the genre and does not shine for originality (even if there is no shortage of twists) but nevertheless (or perhaps precisely for this reason) it manages to keep the viewer captivated and involved.

The cinematography is very effective, while in my opinion the screenplay has some holes: some ideas from the film remain a bit pending and are not answered, to the point that I started to think of a screenplay that had been reworked several times . However, this is a nit-picky detail that does not prevent us from appreciating a very underrated film, in my opinion.

Perhaps I exaggerate,  but it is a film that would not look out of place next to The Witch, for the same "visceral" atmosphere, or to The Babadook, for the loneliness of the protagonist dealing with a distressing story.
