Review of  Marina Ricci Marina Ricci
Wow, this movie is such a letdown. It's really bad. I hate to say it, but they strayed so far from the book that it feels like a completely different story. I get that adaptations require some changes for the screen, but they altered major plot points and character arcs. The differences between the "uglies" and "pretties" are barely noticeable; the pretties just look like they've had a basic Instagram filter applied. The CGI isn't even impressive. They also forced in elements from later in the series, creating a confusing mess. It's clear they had no plans for any sequels, which is frustrating.4o mini Read all
Review of  Balkan Castevet Balkan Castevet
Young/adult sci-fi filmed by McG in an all too generic way, without flashes, without personality and therefore with an impact that is bland without moments that really have ideas and strength, both visual and narrative. Even the characters are far too stereotyped, the The problem isn't even so much the clichés of the genre but it's that everything seems to go on automatic and standardized pilot. So there isn't great depth or insight into the characters, for example the Smoke group, the rebel cell of this sci-fi world dystopian, it is not explored at all, practically only David is known, the leader of the group with whom, clearly, there will be understanding and probably intimacy with the protagonist Tally. Cody, the character who has doubts about the protagonist, in addition to this has no say in the matter, has no characterization. In this futuristic and dystopian world, society at 16 years old, through an operation, makes everyone, girls and boys, perfect therefore super-beautiful, without defects; by doing this, people are controlled, causing their morale and conscience to decrease. An overall view of how society works is somewhat lacking, ok mental control over the majority of the population so that questions are no longer asked about the scarcity of resources, but who really brings society forward and who makes the choices? The center where the operations are carried out led by Cable, the film's villain, is certainly shown, but a more structured world building is missing. Even the various actions and clashes are managed in an almost lascivious way, it is not clear how Cable and his soldiers leave David escape despite being under fire but in general there are several moments like this. It's a film that doesn't excel in anything, the form is flat, the action scenes are nothing special, there's often too much CGI, characters who don't shine and stereotypes of young-adult films Read all
