I can only say that from the first to the last moment I was (with) Jim. And I still will be. His gestures, his dance, his outbursts, his nervous and tender sweetness, a whole night of clapping against the wall to be able to show his daughter that he is there, that everything will really be fine. His words, the outburst with his colleagues, with Nate, his tears, that kiss to his dead wife ("from me and Crystal") and immediately after that slap ("from my mother and Crystal's future husband" ). I loved everything about this wonderful film, this unforgettable man, this emotional story. What a beauty. A man. An existential monologue which is actually a dialogue which is actually a drama with a smile, a comedy with a heart of darkness. In this sense, there is a whole parallel with Alverson's Entertainment. Two existential monologues that have several common points, but differ in those that make the difference between desperate resignation and tormented hope: Jim, somehow, has found the answer to his "whyyyyy???". And she is his daughter, she has always been the answer to every why, even the most atrocious ones. While the protagonist of Entertainment talks on the phone with a ghost, he shuts out the world and lets himself drift. This film is full of wonderful scenes, full of emotion, all constructed and told very well. The hand clapping is perhaps the most powerful, truly wonderful.
