“I met the kids on the street. I was walking down First Avenue in New York and they were running. They had long black hair and glasses. Something about them intrigued me and I followed them. When we met at a crossroads I asked him if they were brothers. And they said yes. I asked him where they lived. And they answered me on Delancey Street, which was just two blocks away. So I said to him: What? I've never seen you around here before. And they said to me: “What do you do for a living?” I said: the director. And one of them: "We too are in the world of cinema". Thus begins the story of the extraordinary meeting between director Crystal Moselle and the Angulo brothers, a journey that lasted five years and whose final fruit is The Wolfpack, already winner of the Grand Jury prize at the Sundance Festival for the documentary section, and which will arrive in our cinemas on 22 October and will be visible on 23 October on the Sky Crime + Investigation channel. An excellent example of how the interaction between cinema and television can give visibility to those films that would otherwise remain the sole prerogative of festival spectators. Those six boys, dressed like the protagonists of Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs, had an atrocious story behind them and terrible; they had lived their entire existence without almost ever leaving their apartment. plot

Locked away from society in an apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, the Angulo brothers learn about the outside world through the films that they watch. Nicknamed ‘The Wolfpack’, the brothers spend their childhood reenacting their favorite films using elaborate home-made props and costumes. Their world is shaken up when one of the brothers escapes and everything changes.
