Review of  Ignazio Venzano Ignazio Venzano
Of course, it's not normal for someone who has never walked that far to suddenly start doing it for 800 kilometres. Much less do it without even a minimum of survival equipment. The explanation for this, which is present at a certain point in the film, is relatively convincing and refers to a fact that has been removed for too long. But the wife, taken by surprise, naturally thinks that there is much more involved. In any case, our hero does not go back and indeed, continuing on his journey, he finds unexpected help and at a certain point even fame (with related people in tow). Bizarre story therefore, taken from a novel by Rachel Joyce which for the film he also wrote the screenplay. The final product is of a good standard, because, even if the general plot is not very credible, the individual encounters that Mister Fry has with those who help him are, which lead us to the reactions of various people, driven in turn by their personal stories to become passionate about this. Which will also be the occasion for a renewed meeting with his wife. One of the strangest things, after all, is an England with practically no rain. Read all

plot

Harold Fry is an unremarkable man who has made mistakes with all the important things: being a husband, a father and a friend. And now, well into his 60s, he is content to fade quietly into the background of life. Until, one day – Harold learns his old friend Queenie is dying. Harold leaves home, walking to his post office to send her a letter. And out of the blue, Harold decides to keep walking, all the way to her hospice, 450 miles away.
