Gareth Evans, a British director who does not boast a long production but who has already entered the history of cinema with two masterpiece films such as “The Raid” and “The Raid 2”. “The Raid” was released in 2011 and although it didn't achieve much success in theaters, over time it would become a “must have” in the home video field. The film is based, almost exclusively, on the main character of second lieutenant Rama, played by the Indonesian Iko Uwais who, in addition to being an actor, is also a real martial arts expert. Uwais-Rama becomes an inseparable combination that will be further strengthened in the sequel which, in some ways, is even better than this, already in itself, wonderful work. The entire film takes place in 24 hours and there is no simpler story: we are in Jakarta (Indonesia) and a police commando team made up of 20 highly trained men are commanded by Lieutenant Wahyu with the collaboration of his subordinate Rama. The group has only one objective: to enter the building where Riyadi, the drug lord of Jakarta, resides and arrest him even if, they are certain, they will be forced to kill him. Riyadi lives in a building of about twenty floors but what appears to be a totally abandoned and dilapidated building is in reality a real fortress where, beyond the first floors inhabited by people not belonging to Riyadi's criminals, everything else is totally infested with hundreds of killers ready to defend their leader even at the cost of their lives. At the beginning the climb to the upper floors seems to be quite quick but, at a certain point, Ryiadi cuts off the light to the entire building and the police are left in the dark; at this point the killers go into action and begin to make a massacre... plot

Deep in the heart of Jakarta's slums lies an impenetrable safe house for the world's most dangerous killers and gangsters. Until now, the run-down apartment block has been considered untouchable to even the bravest of police. Cloaked under the cover of pre-dawn darkness and silence, an elite swat team is tasked with raiding the safe house in order to take down the notorious drug lord that runs it. But when a chance encounter with a spotter blows their cover and news of their assault reaches the drug lord, the building's lights are cut and all the exits blocked. Stranded on the sixth floor with no way out, the unit must fight their way through the city's worst to survive their mission. Starring Indonesian martial arts sensation Iko Uwais.
