Dystopian film where the poorest social class lives in The Kitchen, a structure, a building with a market place in a way that is probably illegal or in any case not recognized by the authorities. The film focuses on the characters of Izi and Benji, father and son, who they will find each other again, everyone goes their own way but little by little the need to be together will arise. The staging of the film is not bad at all, on the contrary, the interiors of Life after Life, the structure where Izi works, are well depicted with the omnipresent greens . In this structure the corpses are reborn in plants and in fact this, as well as for environmental purposes, reduces funeral costs and in fact it is a structure used for the inhabitants of The Kitchen. The shots of the building, the grays and some interiors such as for example the bar with its colors. However, the direction of the duo Kaluuya and Tavares is rather "televisual" without peaks or flashes. Yes, we can point out the hand-held camera which gives tension in the relationships between Izi and Beni, in the excited but basic scenes one notices that there is no who knows what hand is behind the camera. What is missing in the film is also a deeper look at the social situation, the points of view are very approximate, how society works is not described.
