Green has nothing to do with horror, it was with Halloween and here unfortunately he confirms himself again, he doesn't know how to create atmosphere in the slightest, he doesn't know how to cut the shots to make them intense or even to give a tone to the film, so everything it is bland and without bite. Even in writing, the characters who know and have studied the Regan case, therefore they know that Merrin, an expert exorcist, died there and Carras also had to sacrifice himself, improvise as exorcists. Yes, you may find the idea that "the believer" in itself is not based on religion, but clearly this intent is not enough to save the film.
