A buried treasure is what is sought by the film's protagonists, the stubborn Mr. Brown, an archeology expert, and the refined Mrs. Edith, strongly convinced that the mounds on her land hide an enormous treasure to be brought to light. A past that almost seems to torment her and that he is capable of welcoming within himself, taking care of it with infinite tenderness, in every moment of what will represent a frantic search. From the first scenes of the film I am fascinated by their looks, fragile at times, but never giving in, supported by that dream that wanders in the depths of their souls, making them resonate in unison. From Mr. Brown's excavations something will emerge capable of shining again more than gold: the courage of those who do not give up, for example, or the happiness of two young people who discover love in an elsewhere they would never have imagined. Meanwhile, life proceeds with its disharmony (envy, mourning, battles and daily melancholies) and buries what is most dear to man, the film urges us to dig inside ourselves and bring to light that treasure of our existence, that trace of our passage in this world, which in reality will never die.
