Films about abuse, sexual repression that lead to revenge. Good play on the paranormal yes paranormal no, the direction offers some truly effective and atmospheric visual sequences such as the very successful sequence in the bird cage and the dreamlike one with the dagger. Film of genre must live with atmospheres and in this case the colors of the photography which play a lot on purples and more or less dull or bright reds help to make everything more captivating. We are not at the visual levels of a Mario Bava but in any case in several scenes the composition of the picture is really successful and manages to immerse the viewer in this semi-dreamlike atmosphere that the film has. The showing of violence and blood is also interesting and successful. Read all
