Review of  Il Buio In Sala - Giuseppe Armellini Il Buio In Sala - Giuseppe Armellini
Now, I admit, I don't remember Sinister perfectly (a great horror film, not exceptional but definitely among the best among the multiplex films of the last decade) but the more I looked at Black Phone (now in the cinema) the more I said to myself "shit, but this thing is 'I've already seen it!' and every time the "already seen" was referring to Sinister.Derrickson is good, his (almost) debut with The Exorcism of Emily Rose was really good and Sinister, as mentioned, as well.Funny how he straddles exactly halfway between the horror and sci-fi blockbusters confirming that he is probably not a great author but certainly a "solid" one who does his duty to the best of his ability. This Black Phone does not, taken piece by piece, have a single aspect that makes it original but in some way, by putting all these pieces together, in the end his own character brings him out. We are at the end of the 70s and we have the classic American town where kids start disappearing every other week. They call it The Grabber. Solid horror film, which if you invite your friends to come to the cinema or You won't be wrong about recommending it. The retro setting is always welcome, the location with the small neighborhood with terraced houses and beautiful lawns similar to Halloween, the direction and the clean photographs. In reality, when one looks at Black Phone one perceives "only" the genre films but, if you reflect for a moment, you understand that in reality the operation wanted to do more. Digging deeper, in fact this is a film with profound ambitions, for example in telling this world of kids with terrible parents or who seem to live in a world without adults (think of a fusion between Stand by me Read all

plot

Finney Blake, a shy but clever 13-year-old boy, is abducted by a sadistic killer and trapped in a soundproof basement where screaming is of little use. When a disconnected phone on the wall begins to ring, Finney discovers that he can hear the voices of the killer’s previous victims. And they are dead set on making sure that what happened to them doesn’t happen to Finney.
