Review of  Antonella Antonella
Extremely interesting documentary film from 2012, in which Lele Mora talks about himself and tells us about the sadly known worldwide Bunga Bunga. The winning idea is the overflowing narration of the entertainment agent which alternates with the simple and composed narration of a Filipino girl, creating a strong contrast of values and ideas. Archive scenes with auditions of aspiring starlets, who declare themselves willing to do anything to achieve success, alternate with living installations of women wrapped in cellophane, beautiful flesh artfully piled in a rubbish bin... irritating images that remain strongly imprinted, symbol of the commodification of the woman's body. Bad temporary weather... Read all
Together with Videocracy he talks about the Berlusconian era of  Samantha Radio 80 Samantha Radio 80
Sexocracy and Videocracy tell the story of the era of Berlusconi's Italy: TV, sex, power, with politics looking on complacently. An extraordinary documentary, with the figure of Lele Mora at its centre, who from a small provincial bar managed to become friend and confidant of the most powerful person in Italy. Bunga Bunga, told in this exclusive DocuFilm, represents a piece of Italy's history: watching Sexocracy makes you smile and tremble at the same time, observing how the whole world identified Italy as "the home of Bunga Bunga". An explained story of the use of women's bodies and how women themselves could be victims or executioners. Unlike the first Videocracy, the sequel to Sexocracy tells the phenomenon of women's bodies from a more international perspective, not just Italian, and poses many personal reflections, analyzes of one's conscience at the end of the film (I can't spoil it!), with a debate in the room (or in the living room) that will be fiery: because all the spectators will have opposing ideas and will begin to argue animatedly... not I can spoil it further, watch it Read all
A well-made documentary film, which didn't excite me too much of  Francesco Conti Francesco Conti
A well-made documentary film, with a good pace but which didn't excite me too much. Maybe because I was hoping for revelations that never came. Everything was already known. The merit, however, is that it made the topic not boring by describing a Lele Mora I didn't know. It might seem like a long self-exoneration from Mora but if you read between the lines it isn't like that, on the contrary. You just need to listen carefully when he talks about the 'underpants' bar to understand what a character Mora was and what he was able to do for his friend Silvio. Read all
A snapshot of the Berlusconi era of  Ugo Messina Ugo Messina
Even if now dated, Sexocracy remains a relevant documentary as a memory of a well-defined historical period, beyond the scandals that surround it, this work is a snapshot of the Berlusconi era, of its excesses, its flaws, its immorality (for many) which however, compared to the immorality of the current Italian political and governmental panorama, with its blackmail to its citizens, risks being regretted and arousing nostalgia. The Lele Mora that emerges from this film is a disappointed man, defeated first of all by his own delusions of omnipotence. But also extremely human which makes him appear almost likeable. The documentary flows quickly and interestingly supported by skilful editing and an accurate and correct choice of topics to discuss. Even for the national Silvio detractors, there is much to learn from here. Read all
It runs smoothly thanks to good assembly of  Ernest English Ernest English
Interesting, even if now dated, this documentary runs smoothly thanks to good editing that doesn't make you feel its 70 minutes. A cross-section of the Berlusconi era which reached the peak of global popularity with the Ruby scandal. The parallel between Lele Mora and the foreign immigrant girl is interesting. Read all
