I'm not gonna lie, I'm a huge Stephen King fan and have both read the book and watched this movie over a dozen times. In my opinion, it's one of the best films out there (not being blamed). 👏👏👏 The actors are perfectly cast and portray their characters flawlessly. Rob Lowe excelled as Ben Mears, and Dan Byrd was spot-on as Mark. The first time I watched it, the vampires really freaked me out! I say, this is film a chance. ❤️ Read all
Review of  Balkan Castevet Balkan Castevet
Dauberman is perhaps the director, among those who try to copy Wan and that circle, who plays a little more on a chromatic level, even if in any case his Annabelle 3 is a film that is anything but beautiful, just the opposite, in any case in Salem's Lot the director even churns out some nice, well-constructed and thoughtful images. The film, however, runs too quickly, the characters are much less sketchy and even the deaths have little emphasis, key characters die as if they were random deaths. Also the vampire villain does not have the slightest characterization but this unfortunately applies to anyone. On the directorial-visual side, as written, there are some good images as well as photographic care, at times, especially there are some plays on good greens and basic daytime photography has pleasant scenes. At night the image is excellent and well constructed, the scene of the kidnapping of the child where dark colors mix, black with more pop shades. There are also interesting editing connections, such as the one that goes from the opening of the Bible to the sandwich and also good camera movements, but in terms of packaging and photography there are far too many filters and color corrections making everything too "plasticky" making any attempt to create atmosphere disappear. CGI is used, there are the usual jump scares and sometimes in the attempt to create suggestive paintings Dauberman goes haywire, he exaggerates by filling the scene with too much patina and CGI thus resulting in it being "wrong" and artificial. So no, we're not there, apart from a few good images it's a film that not only doesn't explore but it really doesn't characterize its characters, not from any context, the ghost town of Jerusalem Lot is little more than mentioned, we don't understand why the Maine town is in decay, in general we don't experience it Read all
