An ingenious and engaging film that immediately captivates with its cinematography and captivating rhythm. It begins like the classic stylish film about the underworld Ă  la Guy Ritchie (see Snatch), but the evolution of the story generates a plot with a theme, well... Buddhist !There is the protagonist Jake Green (Statham) who, going through many vicissitudes, even painful ones, will arrive at a sort of final "enlightenment", while the antagonist (a masterful Ray Liotta) will remain destroyed by his own ego and his own karma.Story from dreamlike traits and characters who are not always what they seem. The Englishman Guy Ritchie is an established director, known for films such as the two “Sherlock Holmes” and “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” starring Robert Downey jr. His best work, however, turns out to be this “Revolver” starring his favorite actor, Jason Statham, known to the masses for being the protagonist of many action films, often of low caliber. Here Statham gives an excellent performance in a film that does not base its narrative fulcrum on action but on the minds of the protagonists. The story, apparently, seems too linear: Mr. Green (Statham) comes out of prison (later the viewer will learn that he served 7 years in solitary confinement) and has the sole aim of finding Mr. Macha (an excellent Ray Liotta) who he believes is the cause of his sister-in-law's death given that he is the boss of the area and controls much of the city's illicit activities. Accompanied by his brother, Jake Green is an excellent gambler and after finding, challenging and beating Macha at the gaming table, he manages to win a huge sum at the boss' casino. As soon as he is preparing to exit the club using the stairs, Jake falls to the floor unconscious but not before meeting a mysterious man (Zack) who had given him a ticket advising him to use the elevator to get out... Jake wakes up in the hospital where he is diagnosed with a rare blood disease that is rapidly spreading through his body and the diagnosis is ruthless: he only has three days to live. When he returns home accompanied by two trusted friends, Jake realizes that someone has forced the door of his apartment and, intrigued by a note placed at the foot of the entrance (where it is written to collect the note itself), he manages to avoid a ambush where though Read all

plot

Hotshot gambler Jake Green is long on bravado and seriously short of common sense. Rarely is he allowed in any casino because he's a bona fide winner and, in fact, has taken so much money over the years that he's the sole client of his accountant elder brother, Billy. Invited to a private game, Jake is in fear of losing his life.
