Benefit from Filmamo, whom I thank, two free entrances for this film. Nina of the Woods is a beautiful fairy tale, with dark hues, populated, like all fairy tales, by good and bad people. A solar storm has rendered all electrical and electronic equipment unusable, forcing men to review their habits, in a daily life without electricity, without cars, without smartphones,....; and the difficulties of a life regulated and illuminated only by sunlight also forces the spectator to adapt to the little light (and on late afternoon days with overcast skies it is not easy.....) The inhabitants of a small town of mountain, faced with the upheaval caused by the solar storm, they form even more communities, and organize themselves to survive: it is a society closed on itself but self-sufficient. Some more daring young people venture beyond the mountains in search of new, more stimulating life prospects. Even Nina, a girl from the village, seems to suffer more than others from the narrowness, especially cultural, of her fellow villagers, who also make her life complicated by pointing her out as a witch. However, everything seems to be progressing, even if there is a lot of mystery surrounding the figure of Mina. Then, in the community, a desperate and hungry Sergio Rubini arrives from the mountain, asking for shelter; these are the premises of the film: the rest at the cinema... I believe that the beauty of this film is in the story it tells. At the end of the film, I tried to find a message, a moral also considering the setting (we are in the wonderful Trentino woods), the technology put out of play, and the many current issues linked to global warming. A sudden solar storm renders any electronic equipment around the planet useless. On the same day, a baby girl is found on the mountain near a small village lost in the mountains. Her name is Nina.
