Scott demystifies the figure of Napoleon by showing his desire for success and boundless ambition that will cost him everything. The film presents grotesque and satirical sides, also taking up some stylistic features of the House of Gucci, Napoleon's short stature, his anything but marble-like physique, the main scene is undoubtedly that of the mummy, Napoleon who needs to be tall to look at it , he wants to live up to the pharaoh. Scott therefore also mocks the character of the emperor. Napoleon's skills in battle are however shown, his artillery, his tactics, his winning battles continuously. The relationship with Josephine, magnifies the scene when the latter opens her legs or their having sex under the table, the relationship between the two is well described and indeed could have been even more in-depth in terms of how it works. Napoleon without Josephine is a nothingness, it will be his (Napoleon's) desire for an heir who is therefore always great and ambitious that makes him lose his wife and therefore happiness and from there everything will collapse for him. Scott's medium-long shots, in addition to being epic, will show the emperor's solitude. Scott's direction is excellent both in its classicism and therefore in the scenarios, in the constructions of very fixed shots expressive, in the re-presentation of the battles, stupendous those in Russia among the ice, the cannon shots, the grandeur and epic nature of the moment and the excellent choral management of the battle.
