We're not there, Sony Pictures can't go beyond Spider-Man in its MCU. It wasn't enough for Sony Pictures to have ruined Venom, so it decided to perpetuate the tradition by focusing on Morbius. And what did it do? It entrusted it to the Sazama screenwriters and Sharpless, they shaped it without a structure and without following the canonical principles of writing, transforming it into the clone of the previous works "Dracula Untold" and "The Last Witch Hunter". The problem with Morbius is that it is a straight line without evolution. He doesn't have peaks and doesn't even look for them, every action has a sometimes illogical reaction.
