Cristina is a beautiful girl. We find her in the monastery, she is a nun. In the incipit, however, we see her go out almost secretly, "covered" by one of the sisters. She has to go to the city, she has something very important to do. on her way back to the monastery something horrible will happen to her. An inspector will investigate. This inspector seems too obsessed with this case, it seems that for him dealing with it goes beyond simple work. Extraordinary film from that Romanian cinema that has now accustomed us to one pearl after another, and to one new author after another. It is very funny and interesting to think that if we take the two most important films by the greatest exponent of this school, Mungiu, we have one on abortion (the stupendous "4 months 3 weeks 2 days") and one set in a monastery (Oltre le hills). And now I find myself this Bogdan George Apetri who makes a film that seems to be the perfect combination of those two. But Miracle is much more than this funny coincidence, it is cinema that excels in writing, that excels in direction, that - a little as happens with Fahradi - manages to tell hyper-realistic stories while introducing very small "mysterious" details that force the most attentive spectator to carry out profound and stimulating analyzes and interpretations and to create a thriller atmosphere in films which, taken objectively, do not seem like such Furthermore, here, in an unforgettable ending that I consider among the most beautiful of these years, there is yet another component, perhaps transcendental, perhaps not, which brings Miracle to an even higher qualitative and interpretative level.
