Horror that focuses heavily on images and the schizophrenia of the characters through tight editing. It's a film that mixes a bit of the esoteric side of Eggers with a certain experimentalism of DeBlasi. It should be noted that the performance isn't always so good, or rather , there are notable shots with beautiful cuts of light created through the windows that play with light and dark and manage to give suggestiveness to the scene. But in general the photography and staging are well done, the browns blending with the black are excellent but also the mixing of the various color tones, reds and light blues above all to create atmosphere in the nightmare moments. Louise's house , the protagonist, therefore often varies in color shades based on the situations, very beautiful even when darkness takes over. In this respect the direction carries out a good play of reflections and mirrors to highlight the conflict between science and the occult, given that the protagonist is a psychiatrist, recalling some concepts of The Exorcist the Heretic, the shadows that create darkness have their effect here too. The problem is that several times Daarwin's direction aims to "pump" a little too much, either through the soundtrack in already atmospheric sequences which make them unnecessarily overloaded or in individual moments such as the arrival of the priest which, if the single shot is well executed, the performance is too intense.
