Wild entertainment of

The great talent of Rowan Atkinson manages to elevate a film full of banal jokes and highly predictable into a piece of wild entertainment. Thanks to his irreverent personality and unparalleled ability in physical comedy, Atkinson amuses us to the point of making us "cry with laughter". Johnny English is very different from Mr. Bean. The cynicism, sarcasm, and less stupidity makes him a more real and sympathetic character. A good cast (which includes an excellent MalKovich) and a very funny (albeit predictable) ending make it an enjoyable and refreshing film. Frankly, I don't believe that art always has to be serious to be appreciable, and I don't believe that "dramas" have more dignity than comedy films, which lighten our spirits and make reality much more liveable. A lowly pencil pusher working for MI7, Johnny English is suddenly promoted to super spy after Agent One is assassinated and every other agent is blown up at his funeral. When a billionaire entrepreneur sponsors the exhibition of the Crown Jewels—and the valuable gems disappear on the opening night and on English's watch—the newly-designated agent must jump into action to find the thief and recover the missing gems.
