Review of  Alessandra Alessandra
This film presents a wild and inventive take on the dystopian genre. Set in a struggling California where the stakes are dangerously high, the plot revolves around Katie (Awkwafina), who stumbles upon a winning ticket in a lottery with a brutal twist: kill the winner before sundown and you can claim their prize. Awkwafina really shines as Katie, bringing her trademark humor and charm to the role. Watching her navigate this chaotic world with both tension and comedy was a blast. John Cena is a pleasant surprise as Noel, an amateur protector with a big heart and a knack for heroic moments. Their on-screen chemistry is fantastic, blending action with some genuinely funny banter. The plot thickens with Simu Liu's character, Louis Lewis, who's another protector with his own agenda. Liu's performance adds a sharp edge and keeps the rivalry intense, creating a perfect balance to the film's lighter moments. For me, The Grand Lottery is a standout with its unique premise and fast-paced storyline. The combination of dystopian stakes, dark humor, and action-packed sequences kept me hooked from beginning to end. It's a fresh, entertaining watch, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're into inventive sci-fi and action comedies. Read all
Unpretentious but quite entertaining little film of  Bongo Bongo
A so-so little film, the basic idea is interesting (the lottery winner can be killed and the murderer takes the winnings in his place) and there are some nice scenes that get a few laughs, but nothing else. I had the feeling that the initial idea of the film could have been developed much better, with tragicomic situations to kill the winner in a creative way focusing on dark humour, instead the film is an action comedy and all in all the action scenes are not bad , but the "comedy" side is a bit sunk in uninspired and vulgar situations (80% of the film's dialogues are swear words). What I liked Apart from the swear words, the protagonists, although reduced to comedy sketches, are likeable. Some funny and engaging scenes, but they pop up here and there in the midst of the mediocre context. The film doesn't take itself very seriously. What I didn't like. Too many swear words. The initial point of the film. film is developed in a banal way Who might like it Fans of American comedies Fans of action comedies looking for a couple of hours of unengaged entertainment Read all
