Curious case of a writer, on his third directorial, not the first. be careful, because in that case we could talk about inexperience, that when dealing with the adaptation of one of his novels, one of his novels for the third time, be careful, because if it were the first time one could blame the emotion, which it manages neither to tell its story nor to interest the viewer - or at least, with this viewer it failed to do so, and I had really appreciated both The Girl in the Fog and The Man in the Labyrinth. Confused, verbose, sometimes needlessly emphatic, often simply absurd, I Am the Abyss wastes many potentially very interesting ideas and drowns its own non-conformism and its own insistent, paroxysmal determination to subvert the canons of the genre in a sea of emphasis and narrative hermeticism which often hurts the story itself - you understand, of course you understand why the author takes so long to tell the story of his female protagonist, but he takes so long to do so that many moments that could have been exciting if I had had the time the right key to judge them they passed in front of me with me snorting "but please". To finally resolve the film into a huge metaphor on Evil that perhaps should have surprised me, but instead it simply disconcerted me. A shame, because the ideas, as I was saying, were there. And a special mention to the Psycho quote, which this time is less obvious than usual :) Read all

plot

The Man Who Cleans knows you can find a lot of secrets in trash. People tend to lie but their trash never does. The Man Who Cleans thought he was invisible, until he met the Girl with the Purple Hair Lock. Girl with the Purple Hair Lock breaks into his tidy life because only an evil angel can save her now. Meanwhile, the Huntress knows somebody is killing blonds out there. Nobody believes her, but she knows. What she doesn't know, though, is that evil is hiding behind the green door. The truth lies at the bottom of a dark, deep abyss.
