Review of  Balkan Castevet Balkan Castevet
New reboot of Hellboy this time directed by Brian Taylor, to be a reboot the film has the problem of not properly presenting and characterizing the characters. It's okay that we know the character of Hellboy by now, there have been other transpositions, but this film started with Big Red directly into the action, without a presentation of the character and even during the course of the film there is no major exploration and character development. The same thing also applies to the helper Bobbie, his character is really hinted at, yes she says that she is a scholar with little experience in the field but that's where it all ends. So the writing is weak, the characters don't stand out and therefore the catharsis doesn't stand out, the important moments of the film don't have the right impact, the right scope precisely because there isn't it is dramaturgy, the outcome of these characters is not felt. An attempt is made to narrate Hellboy's origins, the connection with his mother, a witch, is timidly shown, but here too given that everything is only on the surface, even the dramatic scenes are not they manage to really be such and this is the main problem of the film. Taylor's direction tries to create horror atmospheres, the director's hand must be said is what it is, not of great quality, the visual and scenic impact is quite standard, maybe some flashes can entertain but even the villains have no strength, the final battle with the Crocked Man has little impact and even the witch is used badly, at times she seems like the classic demon-ninja of mediocre horror films, she doesn't have much to say and he also participates little in the action. Already from the trailers one could sense that the quality was not good, given Brian Taylor's previous work there wasn't much to expect and in fact the film is worth little, the side of the characters is the most demeaning, it's not really clear the reason for this Read all

Hellboy: The Crooked Man" seeks to breathe new life into the iconic character but alters due to its low budget, which fails to convey the richness of Hellboy's world. It resembles a reboot of Harry Potter with the resources of a mediocre CW series. Although , Jack Kesy shines as Hellboy, the supporting cast offers lackluster performances that feel unconvincing. The makeup and special effects come off as cheap, detracting from the immersive experience. though the overdone sound editing and jump scares less the overall impact. Ultimately, it feels more like a fan project than a genuine reinvention, highlighting how a constrained budget can limit a film's potential, even with sincere effort from the team. CIGAR for me.
