I really liked Alessio Nencioni's film. I found it to be a very original comedy of our times. A way of making people laugh that no longer exists. Alessio's alter-ego(?) Dante Nencini is an anarchist film student about to graduate who, in order to demonstrate his value to the teaching staff, must make a film that convinces them in a month. He chooses to present ten short films on various film genres, from musicals, documentaries to westerns and horror. He hires an unlikely and colorful group of people such as actors, screenwriters, assistant directors, etc. and is preparing to achieve the impossible feat in such a short time. I found it to be a lively, entertaining film full of nice ideas. Maybe it can annoy the way you speak Dante's stately and verbose nature, his being over the top but in the end I found it a functional characteristic of the film. He is the director, the deus ex machina, he is his characters! Even before finding who will take them on stage. There is a phrase that Nencioni makes Simone Sereni, Dante's friend, say".. then there is me who acts as assistant director, director of photography... if necessary I'll do it also the actor, the helper and, if necessary, the low-ranking labourer." The friend says these phrases, and I don't think he chose to have Dante say them just because of a writing requirement but rather the desire to put himself aside. It's a discussion perhaps too complicated that I'm masturbating, but this got to me. And I consider it an act of great generosity by the Tuscan director. Indeed, the location is also beautiful. From the credits it seems to me to be Montelupo Fiorentino. We laugh without falling into foolishness and vulgarity. I particularly appreciated the short the human tester and its disturbing snails but also the unlikely gangster and his absurd bodyguard-like
