Review of  Balkan Castevet Balkan Castevet
As with all Scott's films, the aesthetics and photography are truly appreciable here too, there are truly memorable and powerful sequences such as the bloody Nile, the hail but in general dark Egypt is truly impressive. In this film Scott from his interpretation of the Exodus and some ideas and interpretations are interesting, above all a Moses who is truly doubtful about himself and his role and the mutual relationship with God in the guise of a child (interesting choice). Unfortunately, however, it is noticeable too much so that the film is truncated, many dynamics are poorly explored, Moses' choices and changes are often sudden and furthermore many characters are only sketched out, practically the entire female cast has very little say in the matter, Aaron himself, the doubts of the Jewish people on Moses have not arrived. Another interesting facet is the rivalry between Moses and Rameses that often returns in Scott's cinema, but here too, if on the one hand their dualism presents interesting moments, on the other the screenplay fails to giving the right strength, however, partly recovered by the visual power. An undoubtedly imperfect film which nevertheless has its beautiful moments and which, although limping, presents some interesting biblical interpretations. Read all
