First feature film (2022) by Céline Devaux, a film that has a clear and interesting beginning followed by a very thin plot. The undertaking to which the Frenchwoman Jeanne has dedicated herself (a tool to clean the seas of waste) practically fails in her debut. All that remains is to go to Lisbon to sell her mother's apartment. It just so happens that on the same trip there is a friend of hers from school, still unemployed, who has a sister and a niece to look after in Lisbon. Jeanne, certainly depressed, in this unexpected change of life finds herself arguing with an internal voice that tries to give her advice, represented by a long-haired cartoon character. Some of the professional critics I read seem to like the idea, but honestly, the animated interruptions to the story seemed too much to me and didn't amuse me much. Furthermore, all the males in the film, not only the almost homonymous French friend Jean but also the choir teacher of his niece and even Jeanne's brother, who lives in Lisbon, are all similar, so one must carefully follow this what happens so as not to get lost. The best thing about the film is that it doesn't insist on depression and actually tries to make the atmosphere light, perhaps too much. Read all

Everybody has always loved Jeanne. These days, she hates herself. Up to her ears in debt, she has to go to Lisbon and sell her mother’s apartment, who passed away one year ago. At the airport, she runs into Jean, a whimsical and somewhat intrusive former high school classmate.
