This movie features a princess and a dragon, with a straightforward story that initially gave me low expectations, but it surpassed them in almost every way.Unlike most adventure/fantasy films, Damsel is set in a more confined space with a simpler plot, which makes it refreshing, exciting, and even suspenseful at times. Visually, it's stunning — from the landscapes and costumes to the colors and creative lighting, the overall visual quality makes it a real treat for the eyes. It reminded me a bit of Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) in terms of its imaginative visuals. It was also fun to see Millie Bobby Brown in a different, yet similarly adventurous, role compared to her breakout in Stranger Things. Read all

Fantasy that places female characters at the center of the story where the protagonist, Princess Elodie, is not the "classic" girl waiting for the handsome prince but rather the story deals precisely with her story of emancipation. The film tries to create its own mythology , the presence of the dragon is crucial to the story as well as the reason why it acts in that particular way. The ancient king of Aurea trying to defeat the beast will see his men wiped out and will establish a pact with the dragon for the coexistence of both. The deception that the kingdom of Aurea perpetuates against the dragon, who will turn out to be a mother and therefore a female, brings wrongs and innocent girls, therefore the damages of a man, the king and his men which have repercussions in the future where women suffer the damage. The characters in the film and its writing, however, are not convincing, if Elodie still has her parable, the other characters, including the female ones, do not enjoy as much attention or who knows what significant moments. Floria, Elodie's little sister, disappears from the film for too long as the main body of the story turns to the dragon's cave where only Elodie is present together with the creature. Floria despite being physically present in the decisive moment in the clash between Elodie and the dragon , does not participate in any way, therefore he remains a summary character without who knows what utility, if not a plot pretext, his capture. The entire third act as it unfolds is very fast and too sudden, as already written in secondary characters have little development due to how the story develops, but in the third act everything happens too quickly, we go from the scenario of destruction due to the dragon's anger to characters who are captured, Read all
