Review of  Marina Ricci Marina Ricci
The movie had lost my interest by the halfway point. It was a little creepy, though I was hoping for more. Pros:The concept of a creepy monster adopting the face of a deceased loved one has potential.Creature design (though barely visible) is the highlight.Cons:The acting ranges from underwhelming to wooden, failing to hold my attention. The characters lack depth and redeeming qualities, making it hard to care about them.Questions about the monster's origin and purpose remain unanswered. The pacing is painfully slow.It feels like they aimed for a grand metaphor, but ultimately it fell flat, leaving a disappointing and pointless ending . 👎👎👎 Read all

Horror about the processing of mourning and pain where the director Benjamin Barfoot refers to the Babadook and, as many have already said, also, in some aspects, to Under the Skin. The staging and photography are very accurate, there is a nice I work on the scenarios therefore on the interiors of the house with the glass walls which therefore always show the outside thus also giving the sensation of observation from the outside. The work carried out outside is also good, in particular there is an insistence on framing the trees which, making up the forest, completely envelop the house which therefore isolates the two main characters, Laura and Isaac. Even the sound of the wind has its relevance and it is worth noting that despite the hiss, the trees, the branches, I remain mostly stationary, motionless, there is therefore the sensation that something is always approaching but in an unnatural way. So the house with the glass walls, the reflections, the views indicate another reality. Barfoot does a good job of isolating in the scene both Laura and Isaac, the two are dominated by the frame therefore the images show their disorientation and difficult conditions. The characters are unable to find mutual comfort, both are in suffering, Isaac has lost his father, he does not trust Laura and has visions, hears voices, thinks her father is still alive and wants to find him. Laura is not Isaac's biological mother, she drowns her sorrow in alcohol while Dr. Alice also pressures her to keep Isaac while Laura is reluctant to do so, she wanted to be with James (Isaac's father) but she can't handle the current situation, much less little Isaac, also note the phone call to her mother where the latter tells her to drop everything and leave. Laura and Isaac will find themselves imprisoned between the crystal walls and the forest and both distant therefore alone and Read all
