Creed II Rocky's farewell to the cinema. “It's your time.” With these words Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) refuses to go on stage (i.e. the ring) together with Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) to celebrate his victory. He remains on the sidelines, alone, sitting on a chair, behind the scenes. Exactly the same place he comes from in the first scene in which he appears. Standing still in the shadow, the viewer doesn't even notice him; first we hear his voice and when he finally appears we only see him reflected in a mirror, a scene of extreme symbolic and metaphorical finesse which we believe is the fruit of Sly's pen. If we are to believe what was declared by the Italian-American actor, director and screenwriter Creed II could be the last time we see one of the most famous boxers in the history of cinema on the big screen. Which means that this film is a bit of a farewell to the character and at the same time the end of this new saga born as a spin-off. Because yes, there could be other chapters of Creed, but without Rocky who would go to see them? After all, from the beginning, the entire project was literally cannibalized by Stallone who, called in to do a small part, he took everything and, in the first chapter, he even wrote a monologue designed specifically to try to win that Oscar unjustly denied to him until now. Adonis has never been the protagonist of the film that bears his surname. And this time too it is like this. However, little surprise, this time not even Rocky is at the center of the scene. He remains mostly on the sidelines, he has already retired from the scene, he has said goodbye to everyone and looks slyly.
