Blue my mind explores that black hole that is adolescence, the lack of communication with parents, the fear of not being accepted by one's peers, sexual impulses, the changing body. The protagonist of this journey is Mia, a fifteen-year-old who She moved to Zurich shortly. For some time the girl has erected a wall between herself, her father and her mother and she feels so different from them that she often wonders and asks him if she was adopted. Things are not better with her peers. A stranger in a new school, the young girl seeks her own place in the world and soon becomes close to the most "transgressive" group of students. This meeting will be the beginning of a journey in which Mia will stun herself with alcohol and drugs. In her first feature film, director Lisa Brühlmann directly addresses all the typical problems of adolescence in a direct and often crude film that spares nothing, not even scenes of explicit sex. Many themes addressed starting from the relationship with one's own body. The first disturbance for Mia comes from being a virgin, an obstacle that she will first try to face, helped by her new friends, with a squalid encounter in a motel with a thirty-five year old and then offering herself to practically all the boys she meets until ending up in a real orgy. But what disturbs the girl most is the relationship with her own body which begins to change before her eyes precisely in conjunction with her first menstruation. It is at this point that Blue in my mind undergoes a decisive turning point.
