Underground horror which poses interesting situations in which it combines folk horror with music, specifically with Irish ancestral songs. It is a film shot with very few means, in several aspects it is noticeable, however Duane's direction through the blue photography and costumes manages to restore, in dreamlike moments, the atmospheres of folk horror by showing the tragic ancient events that the song talks about. Music is an important aspect for the film, Rita, the elderly Irish lady is the custodian of the song sought by Anna, Aleks and Agnes. This song talks about betrayals, about a toxic love between a king and a girl from the people with disturbing and tragic moments attached. In fact, the song, the ancient Irish traditions serve as a treasure chest to avoid releasing the curse. Duane also plays with the mystery, not showing Rita right away who is actually hiding in a wardrobe to try not to interact with people for fear that these curses could be released. In the development there are some lightnesses of writing, secondary characters not handled in the best way and undoubtedly everything could have had a greater scope, the low budget is noticeable, the shadows that follow Rita's son are not such constant presences and undoubtedly when the characters go into pubs, libraries, you notice that the sets are not so overly structured. A film which however also hints at body horror, Rita's son has a tragic and disturbing life and the characters find themselves living what the song narrates.
