Review of  Naechan Naechan
(contains spoilers) Curious film that begins as a modern "allegorical" horror ("now we'll tell you about the evils of our society, but we'll dress them up as horror films so you don't get bored") and then evolves into a very old-fashioned monster film. Some people find it inconsistent, I liked the game and the fact that the packaging is so neat is certainly not a bad thing 😁 Read all
Review of  Balkan Castevet Balkan Castevet
Film that talks about society, about the media's conveyance of how consumerism, our economic-productive system produces its own reality and Verbinski makes it a wonderful fresco on mirror reality, on how everything is distorted, on the search for truth and how treatment and illness are connected more than ever precisely because man, society, is predisposed to this. Verbinski is extraordinary at inserting these speeches into a pure gothic film, Frankenstein is also mentioned, and he directs everything in an amazing way with a mass and the scene and photography are very well looked after and beautiful to look at. The shots focus on creating games of mirrors that represent the distorted reality, the hidden truth, the world is imbued with the filter and news of the media, before the narrative enters the center of Swiss care, the direction already insists on the windows, on the monitors on every object that indicates the reflection, the sight, an opening but also an imprisonment because man is imprisoned in his world. Therefore the double reality, the distortion of this and the contrast between the artificial world centered on business on Wall Street opposed by the naturalistic one of the hill in Switzerland where the treatment center is located. The deer that makes the car skid where the protagonist Lockhart is represents precisely the clash between nature and 'artificiality, the animal that is hit by the car, i.e. a vehicle created by man. Therefore reality is distorted, the world is continuously mirrored as shown by the excellent shot of the train, the truth is conveyed, man does not know , lives inside a dream in the sense that he is not awake, he does not see, therefore Verbinski embellishes the film with continuous scenes with objects that constantly reflect the sense of sight. Water is the key element of the film, this element is practically omnipresent but also elements such as air and earth are present in much smaller quantities Read all
