I was really looking forward to this movie since I loved the first one. I expected it to follow up on the original by explaining why the girl was significant and what happened next. However, it introduced new characters and concepts that felt completely disconnected from the first film. So,  I think, the first movie was fantastic!!!! A unique concept executed so well that it feels more like a psychological exploration of human behavior than just a film. The sequel has an intriguing premise but, like many sequels, fails to deliver the same impact. The presence of great actors is a plus, it doesn't mask the impression that the writers, producers, and directors were mainly focused on profit, resulting in a film that feels more manufactured than creatively inspired. The biggest issue is the significant plot holes that undermine the original story. I have to say this but some works are meant to be standalone, not part of a franchise.
