All to Play For

(Film, 2023)

Virginie Efira here is a rather impulsive, nervous and agitated mother. On the other hand, social services and French justice proceed with their rigor, which does not accept compromises. If you are not sure that the child is being looked after well, he or she must be taken away from the mother and sent to foster care. He would like to go home, but he can't. She does everything she can think of to get him back. Whatever the cost.  The protagonist's acting is excellent, a good film which, like others of the genre, has the merit of raising questions. Is this educationally okay? The film puts us to the test, seeing it makes us wonder if even in Italy everything is as precise as in France, as in this case. We wonder about the fate of many minors who are in some way necessarily abandoned to their own devices or about possible errors in judgment, even when parents do their best to be up to the task, as is the case here.
