It's almost embarrassing to write about "Il Sorpasso". What can we say about one of the best films in the history of Italian cinema? Personally I think it's Gassman's best performance. A film that borders on perfection. Some scenes, as well as some shots, have become so iconic that even those (shame on you!) who have never seen it can't help but recognize them. For me, Dino Risi was head and shoulders above everyone else but that's another story...
