Italiano medio

(Film, 2015)

Tragic-comic masterpiece on our Italian nature...

Maccio is one of the few remaining champions of Italian comedy. Together with Crozza and very few others. He has nothing to do with the usual insipid Christmas films. Here we are at Maccio Capatonda's best shot: making people laugh about the endemic vices and defects of being "Italians", who constantly complain about everything and everyone, without realizing that they are the first to bring down the Bel Paese.

Capatonda (Actor, Author and Editor of the film) makes us laugh and cry at the same time with a bittersweet, bittersweet, tragicomic film: he lists one by one the terrible defects inherent in the Italic DNA, with particular reference to the passive ignorance in "suffering" the media teleshopping that commercial reality TV and ignorant content offers us, digested by belching on the sofa like idiots, arguing with the brain that seems to want to shout at us "hey, I'm here too, I have many things to tell you, many things to make you do to improve this world.

The ending, which I won't reveal because of spoilers, is absolutely brilliant. A "Summa" of what the Italian people are. The Compromise. Corrupting one's ego, distorting its essence, for ephemeral and rapid convenience. Ah, if the Italian people had a tenth of the balls of the Ukrainian people.

To be seen, to laugh out loud and to reflect once and for all on what we are, and what we could be.

Immense Maccio and let's give more space to these few Geniuses not recommended by the usual Italian system.
